About

Hi there, brave soul! So, you are considering opening the closed doors, and look for those who are hidden? You want to get to know your truest self? As I said, brave! I’m so glad you’re here.

As a practitioner, I…

  • See through the wrongful beliefs you once took to heart, placed on you by the world around you.
  • Map out, and untangle, deeply intricate and complex relationship dynamics (both internally and externally).
  • Show you the gifts in what you think are your most detrimental traits, feelings, and patterns.
  • … All while meeting you with compassion and curiosity.

For those of you who have become seasoned therapy-goers, here is an idea on what you can expect from a session: I draw on the knowledge of Internal Family Systems and work with parts (based on your readiness, you can talk as the part itself), I help access and process reoccurring memories and stuck feelings (Teal Swan outlines a process in her book The Completion Process whilst Peter Levine refers to the same type of work in his method Somatic Experiencing), belief work (maybe you have heard about Byron Katie, she has a method called The Work) or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy goes hand in hand with exploring your emotions and creating a new narrative, Gestalt therapy focus on what you are experiencing in the present moment…

If it’s the first time working with a practitioner… I want you to leave our time together with a fundamental understanding of the question/situation you brought to the session as well as clearly outlined steps for how you can move forward. I will set you up so you can continue to do the work on your own should you want to. During the session, you are encouraged to tell me what’s active in you (the more you are able to be transparent, the more it will increase the potency of the work we are doing), and to ask questions if something is unclear.

Now, if you don’t already know me through Instagram, YouTube or Facebook, or in person, let me introduce myself.

My name is Gunhild Archer. I work as a counselor and my field of interest is relationships in the broadest sense of the word. I will help you with your relationship to yourself, to others (family, children, partner etc.), to concepts, beliefs, institutions, authority and so on.

That —–>

is me.

How old am I? I was born in 1987, January. (I’m a Capricorn; willful and persistent.)

I have a masters degree in psychology and counseling from NTNU.

I handed in my first master thesis in 2014 (I say “first” because I failed, re-did the thesis, and handed in the thesis that would finally be approved a year later). My bachelor assignment was titled “Expectations meets reality, a study of long-term partnerships”. The title for my master thesis was “How do we choose happiness when faced with life changing decisions?”. I was facing the most challenging dilemma of my twenties, and was adamant at understanding how people got through situations similar to mine.

After finishing my thesis, I craved the freedom to do things my way. I didn’t want to work for someone else. I wanted to make my own rules and do things my own way. I established Archer Insight and made myself responsible for creating the life I wanted (little did I know that I was in for a decade plus of wading through what I thought I SHOULD want, and my truth is still making itself known). So far I have been blessed to guide clients, couples, and groups, create courses, and let people see ME do the work.

Where does my interest in understanding people come from? Some people will say I was born with a deep curiosity and wonder. My time was best spent accompanied by my grandfather, having philosophical conversations about big topics. Others will point to the dissonance I experienced as a child, growing up in a dysfunctional household and my subsequent attempt to understand its effects. One answer lead to ten new questions, and I was not able to let a topic go until I had reached an understanding that made sense on a deep visceral level. If you’re into astrology you might say that my Venus in Scorpio explains it. I have a pull towards the subconscious, the taboo, and all things unsaid and hidden. You can also look to Human Design and discover that I’m a 6/2 projector with mostly individual circuitry. I’m born to empower by provoking, guide, and to be an example. No matter how you explain my interest, my curiosity is genuine and if you invite me to work with you, I will see it as a gift.

Things you can expect when working with me:

Someone who is honest and grounded in reality

Someone who is grounded in reality. I won’t tell you to ascend to 5D and manifest your dream life through divine union vision rituals. I find solutions that works in real life that also works for YOU. I don’t care if something works for everyone else, if it doesn’t work for you it’s not the right approach.

No judgement or pretense

Someone who will see and not judge. It’s rare to experience a relationship beyond pretense, but that’s what you get when working with me. The foundation of my therapeutic space is transparency and humanness. Neither of us are perfect, but you don’t have to be for me to love you.

Seeing and experiencing your own magic and beauty

Have you seen Narnia? The magical world that appears through the wardrobe… That’s a session in a nutshell. You are a unique and magnificent person who I have the honor to discover. I get to shed light onto the long forgotten hidden gems you were once told were unwanted burdens no one could love. I think EVERYONE should, at least ONCE in their life, work with a practitioner who thoroughly enjoys them.

Someone who advocates for your highest truth and alignment

Someone who is on your side. I want you to succeed, and I will make sure nothing rubs your the wrong way while getting there. I will help shine a light on behavior you want to break free from (example: stop taking blame that isn’t yours to take), and start becoming the person you want to be (example: taking accountability for your actions even when it stings).

10+ years experience in dealing with mild to severe trauma and PTSD

Someone who understand and know how to deal with complex relationship experiences, mild to severe trauma and PTSD (which includes anxiety, depression, disordered eating, self-hate, lack of boundaries, hyper vigilance, self-sacrificing, fight/flight/fawn etc), perpetual and painful dynamics, conflicting needs, unresolved/sticky emotions etc.

A thorough understanding of family systems and relationship dynamics

Someone who has a comprehensive understanding of relationship and family dynamics and has the necessary experience to help find the right way (for you) to deal with it. You don’t have to stay in dynamics that leave you feeling disappointed, angry, and unseen.

Let me help you create a life that fulfills you.
